AFCON 2025: How Tanzania Can Beat Super Eagles – Gamondi

Tanzania head coach Miguel Gamondi, says his side must put in extra effort when they confront Nigeria, Gistmania reports.

The Taifa Stars will be up against the Super Eagles in their first game at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Fès on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles have some of the continent’s best players in their ranks.

Éric Chelle’s men are also one of the favourites to win the title.

Tanzanian players who will be making their fourth AFCON appearance in Morocco have never progressed to the group stage.

Gomandi insists it will be a herculean task to stop the Super Eagles.

“We need to be realistic, when you see the qualities in the Nigeria team you need to put in more than 100 percent effort to try to neutralize them. Our mentality is to try to play and attack as well, we need to be tactically discipline,” Gamondi told a press conference in Fès on Monday.

The game start at 6.30pm Nigerian time.
