"Without A Woman Or Man In Your Life, You Are Not A Complete Human" — Didi-Omah Augustine

Executive, one of my followers asked me about my view on marriage and age in marriage.

I paused, did some researches from the study of life, cultures and knowledge from the Bible. I have generally come down to these.

Legal Age: In many places, the minimum legal age for marriage is 18 years for women and 21 years for men. Ensure both parties are of legal age. 

That is once a girl child is 18 years and above, she is premium for marriage. And a male child is 21 years and above, can go ahead to marry. I primarily support it, and will offer my children rights.

But it must be under wisdom and not under infatuation and lust, nor influence. Because before most girl child clocks 20 years, now, they have boyfriends, have gotten sex experiences — some even turns to hook up, looking more matured than a 21 years old man.

Culture: we all know that even in Nigeria, there are many cultures and practices. When seeking for marriage, it is important to know the basic cultural practices governing your partner's community. Even if you don't know the community own, you must know their family culture — it is a must.

Culture influences people's lives, it is said that, culture is the people way of life. It is the way, people lives and do things.

What your partner's family believes in, matters a lot. Their faith, their principles, and their views of things.

In the regards of the age, 

Consent: Both individuals must freely consent to the marriage. If either party is below the legal age, parental consent may be required.

I will say, there is no age for getting married, as long as you have crossed 18 years as a lady and 21 years as a man. If you have not marry till 32 years as both a man and lady, do check yourself. In most cases, you will become a prayer point.

Marriage is instituted by God for coming together of a man and woman to be husband and wife, have children, build family and contribute to the growth of humanity.

So getting married, is not I have not reach the age, it is I am not ready, it is to check if you are matured enough. Because age and height is not maturity, maturity is the mindset and the level of knowledge acquired.

In biblical times, societal norms and customs influenced marriage practices, and it was common for women to marry at a younger age compared to modern standards. And men to marry women they are older than. 

I remembered I was once asked this question: Can I marry a woman, I am older than with 6 years?

Yes, you absolutely can! If you are older than a woman by 6 years, you are eligible to marry her, provided that both of you meet the legal requirements for marriage in your jurisdiction. These typically include:

Being of legal age (usually 18 or older).

Not being currently married to someone else.

Freely consenting to the marriage.

So, go ahead and explore that relationship if you wish! As for me, I can aged my woman from 3 years and above (speaking for myself).

I conclude, without a woman or man in your life, you are not a complete human.
