The Basic Six Girl That Satisfied Me One Sunday Evening In Benue!

On Sunday, June 28, 2026 — as usual it is a Sunday when we Christians has taken as a day of worship. I worshiped at Divine Mandate for All Nations, at her headquarters in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.

I was serving in Makurdi Benue State during my NYSC service year. This Sunday after the church service, as the church was moving it's headquarters temporary to another location, we were packing up to the temporary location that same Sunday. It was not an easy tasks for me, especially carrying heavy speaker and floor rugs.

I ask for garri and soup, Solomon who was supposed to inform the general overseer about my request of garri and soup — never told her. I was serious about it, because I was tired and have little strength to cook any meal after that tasks. Executive, as time goes by, I saw Solomon and asked him, his response was no, he haven't told the G.O of the church about my request. I asked him why? He said "he cannot". 

I went by myself into her office in her house, she was talking to a guest, but permitted me to say why I wanted to see her. I told her my request of garri and soup. She laughed and said it is done. Wow! I returned back to assist in the fixing of things at the new church building there at Kanshio Makurdi, at Faith International Academy's compound. 

As time goes by, Grace (a beautiful girl moving to Basic 7 by September 2026), brought to us, me and Mr Bobby — two bottles of Coca-Cola and two biscuits. Saying that the G.O said she should give them to us. I waited for some time, then took a bottle of Coca-Cola and a biscuit, and started enjoying myself. Then I returned the empty bottle of Coca-Cola rightly. Executive, I have even forgotten about my food request.

Around 5PM to 5:30PM, Grace came with "akpu and a soup", said it is for me. I was about washing clothes. You should trust me, I rushed, took the food inside a well arranged room. Sat down, give thanks to God, washed my hands — another round of eating began. Wow! The soup was so delicious that I had to baked some garri to continue my meal. I licked my hands, took spoon to drink the small remains of the soup in the plate.

Ehhhh! The girl is in basic six at Faith International Academy Kanshio Makurdi in Benue State of Nigeria. Executive, the soup was made up of okra, green leaves, ice fish — that is the ones I can see clearly. But come and taste it nawww. I believe it was one of the Benue food — I made a mistake, I should have asked for it's name. I was so shocked, that I consumed the food like a hungry man with freedom. I had to washed the entire plates and she took it.

I asked Solomon at first when I was washing the plates, who cooked the soup? His response was Grace. I paused and looked at him, he smiled and said it with confidence — it is Grace that cooked the soup. After washing, as Grace came by, I playfully asked Grace, who cooked the soup? She responded that it is her.

I looked at her, she smiled. Even the general overseer of Divine Mandate for All Nations, testified of Grace cooked the soup! Executive, I was like ahhh! This young growing beautiful girl, can cook that even adults loves her food. Mr Bobby also loves her meal, when ever he is opportune to eat her cooked food. Every ingredients are moderate, no one is above and no is below. All appears, no one pass, no one no gree come out!

The basic six girl that satisfied me that Sunday evening in Benue. It is possible but rear now. For a primary school girl cooked like an excellent chef, she is hardworking too. Do chores with Solomon around the house, church and farm. Still study her books, wash clothes, and play whenever she wants to. I kept asking myself, how is Grace and Solomon managing their time — I need to learn their time management.

That is a very good example of a productive life. For me to tell you this story, you should have known that it is the food in action whenever I feel it. Funny!
