Audi Refreshes Its A3 Compact Vehicle For 2025 Model Year

The Audi A3 was the one that, in 1996, inaugurated the concept of the premium compact sedan. The current version, the fourth generation, was unveiled in February 2020 and then marketed in July 2020. The mid-career restyling was initially scheduled to take place in 2023. The operation was slightly delayed, but it was formalized today. Both the 5-door A3 Sportback body and the 4-door A3 sedan body are affected.

A subtle evolution for the restyled A3

The grille is lower and wider, the scoops on either side of the single-frame gain height, and the headlights are illustrated by four possibilities for customizing the light signature. The matrix architecture is based on 24 modules distributed over three rows, like large pixels, which adorn each of the projectors. Before the restyling, the customizable part of the projectors was in the lower corner; now it is in the upper part.

An à la carte light signature: a bright idea… or not?

A technological treat already adorned with the Audi Q4 e-tron and Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback. The new Audi logo with the four rings in a flat design is part of the deal. Since the restyling of the Audi e-tron, which then became the Audi Q8 e-tron, all the brand’s models have been equipped with it.

In the passenger compartment, the central air vent grilles are refined, while the gear lever and the central console are redesigned. The latter accommodates an armrest adjustable in length and inclination.

And in detail, the MMI multimedia system is available in 30 colours. DAB+ digital radio and an inductive smartphone charger come standard. Furthermore, via Audi Connect, it is possible to purchase applications as options on a one-time basis (one month, six months, one year, or three years) or permanently.

District Green and Progressive Red are the two exclusive colours of the restyled A3

New body colours are available: District Green and Progressive Red, while the optional Daytona Gray matte paint adds a touch of exclusivity if necessary.

Orders for the facelifted Audi A3 open in March. To start, the range will be based around two engines, 35 TFSI and 35 TDI, with 150 hp each. In both cases, the 7-speed S-tronic gearbox comes standard.

From the second quarter, the Audi A3 catalogue will be supplemented by other versions, notably the plug-in hybrid, which should, like the Volkswagen Golf 8 restyled at the very beginning of the year, see its power increase from 245 to 272 hp (Golf GTE 2024). We will have to wait a little longer before discovering the restyled Audi S3 whose power has increased from 310 to 333 hp.

The Audi A3 35 TFSI will start at €38,080 in Sportback; the 4-door sedan body will require an additional €565, i.e., a starting price of €38,645 for the A3 Sedan 35 TFSI.
