Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, has announced the schedule for its 2nd Combined Convocation Ceremony. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Congregation, and the university community, has invited members of the public to attend the event. Sule Lamido University announces 2nd combined convocation ceremony

Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, has announced the schedule for its 2nd Combined Convocation Ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Congregation, and the university community, has invited members of the public to attend the event.

The programme will run from 10 April to 11 April 2026; it will feature a convocation lecture, an investiture ceremony, the conferment of first degrees, and the presentation of academic prizes and awards.

Date for SLU convocation ceremony 2026

The convocation activities will hold over two days:

  • Friday, 10 April 2026
  • Saturday, 11 April 2026

Convocation lecture details

The convocation lecture will hold on Friday, 10 April 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The venue is Lecture Hall B, Career and Income Development Centre, Sule Lamido University.

Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, FCSN, MNIM, who serves as the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, will deliver the lecture.

The lecture is titled “Climate Resilient Agriculture and Youth Engagement: Strategies for Transforming the Agricultural Sector in Jigawa State and Beyond.”

The event will be chaired by His Excellency Alhaji Umar Namadi, FCA, Executive Governor of Jigawa State.

Main convocation ceremony date and venue

The main convocation ceremony will take place on Saturday, 11 April 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The venue is the Convocation Arena at the university’s main campus along Kano Road, Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State.

Investiture of the 2nd Chancellor

A key part of the ceremony will be the investiture of the 2nd Chancellor of the university.

The Chancellor to be invested is HRH Alhaji Umar Faruk II, OON, Emir of Katagum.

Degrees, prizes and awards

During the ceremony, the university will confer first degrees on graduating students.

It will also present academic prizes and awards to outstanding graduates. That part sits at the centre of the event; it brings the graduates’ work into full view.
