For the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has issued a stern warning to pilgrims, advising them against bringing any prohibited items into Saudi Arabia.

Jalal Arabi, the Executive Chairman of NAHCON, delivered the cautionary message during the kickoff of the 2024 National Hajj operations at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

In his address, Arabi emphasized the importance of pilgrims utilizing their unique opportunity to worship Allah without distractions.

He urged, “I implore all of you to refrain from actions that could tarnish your reputation or that of our country.

Reflect on the lessons learned during your preparations for this journey and understand that it is time to put them into practice,” he stated.

The NAHCON chief also urged pilgrims to strictly adhere to all health guidelines while in the Kingdom to prevent illnesses.

He assured that NAHCON had made necessary arrangements for the comfort of the pilgrims.

Arabi disclosed that, following consultations with the State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, NAHCON management had implemented certain measures to reduce the high costs associated with Hajj.

“We have shortened the stay in Madinah from eight days to four, with a corresponding adjustment in fees for the four-day period.

This adjustment significantly reduced Madinah accommodation costs, as we negotiated rates with the same luxurious hotels,” he elaborated.
