Kindiki Announces Date for Public Viewing of Raila Odinga’s Body

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has announced the burial date of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

While addressing the nation on Wednesday night, October 15, at the Official Residence of the Deputy President in Karen, he revealed that Raila’s burial will take place on Sunday, October 19, at his Bondo home.

The National State Funeral Committee, led by Deputy President Kindiki, further revealed that Raila’s body will be brought to Kenya on Thursday before being taken to Lee Funeral Home and later to Parliament.

The body will then be taken to his Karen home for an overnight stay on Friday and to Kisumu on Saturday. Public viewing of Raila Odinga’s remains will take place at Moi Stadium, Kisumu County, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Raila’s supporters will get a chance to view his body for the last time on that day.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party boss’s body will later be moved to Bondo for an overnight stay on Saturday evening. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki finally revealed that the burial ceremony of the late Prime Minister will take place on Sunday at his Bondo home.

According to a family insider, Raila Odinga had informed his family that he wished to be buried within 72 hours of his death.
