During an interview on AIT, political analyst Lemmy Ughegbe raised concerns about alleged discrepancies in results from the recent Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.

Ughegbe referenced a Form EC8A, the official polling unit result sheet issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), claiming that figures on one uploaded result from Kwali Area Council did not add up.

According to him, “I saw one of the Form EC8A that was uploaded. One of the results from Kwali where the number of people who were accredited to vote were about 213. Of the 213 that were accredited to vote, there were 2 votes that were voided. So that means the total votes that were valid were about 211, but when the results were collated, the APC got about one thousand, two hundred and something votes from that particular Form EC8A as it were. So there’s been a lot of miracles in terms of the arithmetic of the calculations that we saw. The issue of vote buying is there.”

He suggested that such numerical inconsistencies, if verified, raise serious questions about collation accuracy and transparency in the electoral process.
