Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has imposed a strict ban on communication devices among its members after a series of coordinated strikes destroyed thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon.

The strikes, which led to heightened security measures, have raised concerns over possible espionage, according to two senior Iranian security officials.

DAILY POST reports that the attacks, which occurred last week, resulted in 39 deaths and over 3,000 injuries, with Hezbollah and Lebanon alleging Israeli involvement, though Israel has neither confirmed nor denied the claims.

Following the destruction of Hezbollah’s communication devices, including homemade and imported equipment from China and Russia, the IRGC has launched a large-scale investigation, inspecting devices and scrutinizing the bank accounts and travel records of its personnel.

In response, the IRGC is enforcing end-to-end encryption for all internal communications and has sought technical assessments from Hezbollah.

The attacks have led Iranian authorities to intensify security measures, particularly around sensitive missile and nuclear sites, amid fears of Israeli infiltration.

The incident marks a new phase in the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iranian-backed Hezbollah forces, with both sides ramping up their defenses and intelligence operations.
