He Showed No Signs of Illness — Man Mourns Brother Who Served in the U.S. Air Force

A man identified as Mezie Nino Bright has taken to social media to mourn the passing of his brother, Dr. Ekele Arthur Asoye, who was serving with the United States Air Force.

In a post shared on Facebook, Mezie revealed that his brother had shown no signs of illness before his sudden death.

He also recalled their last moments together, explaining that they both attended the Ila-Oso Festival on January 1st.

According to him, during their time together at the festival, Ekele spoke about his future plans and his passion for helping young people. He reportedly discussed initiatives he hoped to carry out through a charity foundation he founded alongside his elder brother, identified as Uncle Emeka.

Mezie expressed deep sadness while sharing the news of his brother’s passing, he wrote: “We’ve lost one of our finest,a brother, a friend, and a philanthropist. I still struggle to believe that Lieutenant Dr. Ekele Arthur Asonye—someone we spent Christmas and New Year with—is gone. We were all together at the Ila-Oso festival on January 1, 2026, with no sign of illness. Just last month, in February, he told me on the phone about his plans for our youths through the charity foundation he founded with his elder brother, Uncle Emeka, in memory of their mother, Mummy Ijeoma Asonye… Chia, onwu araa la nsi! “Onye oma Skyski,” this wasn’t the plan, brother…but what can we do?
Rest on, Champ. God knows best.”
