DIDI-OMAH CONGRATULATES DAVID OMEREJI, FIRST POLITICIAN FROM EGBEDA TO OCCUPY POLITICAL SEAT IN RIVERS STATE

In April 2022, Hon. David Omereji announced his candidacy for the Rivers State House of Assembly seat for the Emohua constituency. As a native of Egbeda, a populous community within the Ikwerre ethnic group, he highlighted the long-standing lack of elective representation for his people. Recently, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara nominated Omereji as the caretaker chairman for Emohua LGA, a position confirmed with joy by Didi-Omah Augustine Chinazaekpere, President of Doac Invest. and CEO of DoacWeb.com. Didi-Omah expressed his happiness and support for Omereji, recognizing his potential to bring development, job creation, and progress to their community and the state.

Two years ago, on April 1, 2022, Hon. David Omereji, a prominent member of the People's Democratic Party, declared his intention to run for the Rivers State House of Assembly seat for the Emohua constituency. As a native of Egbeda in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, he highlighted that despite Egbeda being the most populous community in the Ikwerre ethnic group, its people had long been excluded from holding elective positions in the state.

Didi-Omah Augustine Chinazaekpere, President of Doac Invest. and CEO of DoacWeb.com, Africa, who also hails from Egbeda, congratulated David Omereji, recognizing him as a renowned philanthropist and politician.

On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara nominated caretaker chairmen for the 23 local government areas of the state. This nomination came amid a renewed political crisis, as former council chairmen refused to vacate their offices after their tenure expired.

Upon hearing the news through online newspapers and blogs, Didi-Omah confirmed the information and expressed his joy at seeing a native of Egbeda occupy a political position for the first time. He prayed for David Omereji's success in his political career and urged him never to forget his community, Egbeda, the most populous in the Ikwerre ethnic nationality.

Here is Didi-Omah's statement:

"My joy knows no bounds upon hearing the swearing-in of David Omereji as Emohua LGA caretaker chairman. I remember in April 2022, Omereji declared his intention to run for the Rivers State House of Assembly seat for Emohua constituency. He is a good politician, a man of the people, a man of integrity, a renowned philanthropist, and more to us. Being the first politician from our great community, Egbeda, Emohua LGA, to occupy a political position after many years is good news. Light is here. Omereji will not only help Fubara's government to ensure peace, development, and security in the state, but he will also aid in providing jobs in Emohua LGA. I love Omereji. I am from Egbeda, Emohua LGA, and I am happy for the progress. If you do not stand for something, you will fall for anything.

I urge Omereji not to forget his people, Egbeda. He should focus on job generation, education, power, and strategic partnerships that will foster development in Egbeda. I am not being selfish; he is our choice. I believe with him, not only Emohua LGA and Egbeda, but Rivers State as a whole will see light and rapid revenue growth as never before.

I appreciate Siminalayi Fubara for being our governor and for fighting for the youth. Omereji is the man I choose. Despite not knowing him too well, Egbeda is proud."
