Cape Verde’s Vozinha nominated for 2026 Ballon d’Or Goalkeeper award

Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has been nominated for the 2026 Ballon d’Or Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year award following his impressive performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 40-year-old shot-stopper was included in the shortlist released on Tuesday by the Ballon d’Or organisers.

Vozinha played a key role for Cape Verde during their historic World Cup campaign, earning recognition among the leading goalkeepers in world football.

He will compete for the award alongside Argentina’s Emiliano Martínez, Senegal’s Édouard Mendy and other notable goalkeepers.
