Benin Coach admits tough task ahead Super Falcons clash

Amazons of Benin Republic head coach Abdoulaye Ouzerou has acknowledged that his team faces a difficult challenge as they prepare to take on the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the second leg of their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifying tie on Tuesday (today) in Abeokuta.

The Amazons lost the first leg 2-0 in Lome last week and must score at least three unanswered goals to secure a place in next year’s WAFCON finals.

Ouzerou admitted that playing against the nine-time African champions on home soil will be a huge test.

“When the Super Falcons play, their mindset is to win — that’s what champions do. We know they’ll want to make their fans happy after winning the WAFCON. 

“For us, the target is to keep improving and hopefully qualify for the next WAFCON,” Ouzerou told reporters ahead of the game.
