WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR APR. 7

Kneeling roses disappearing into Moses’ dry mouth, breaking into Fort Knox, stealing our intentions. Hangars sitting dripped in oil, crying “Freedom!” handed to obsoletion, still, you feed us lies from the tablecloth, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with an extensive recap of Stand & Deliver.

Newly-minted NXT Men’s Champion Tony D’Angelo makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

“You deserve it!” chants ring out and he says a lot of have been with him since the beginning, and when he came to NXT he was just a kid he’d barely recognize in the mirror today. But now he’s not just a man, but THE man, and he’s become the NXT Champion. The first ever NXT Grand Slam Champion in history!

That’s something he’s wanted ever since he walked in the door, and along the way he’s made decisions he agrees with and some he doesn’t, but he wouldn’t change anything, because those decisions made the man he is today and now these hands have an iron grip on the title and there’s not a man walking today who can take it from him– not Ethan Page, not Ricky Saints, and not Joe Hendry.

Say his name, and he appears.

Hendry makes his way down the ramp, mic in hand.

He says Tony is right, he’s the NXT Champion, the man, he had a plan, he executed it and congrats to him. At Stand & Deliver they had a hell of a fight and on that night, Tony was the better man. The better man on one night where there were two other clowns in the ring, and if it weren’t for Saints and Page would D’Angelo be champion?

Enter “All Ego” Ethan Page.

He disagrees and tells Joe not to get any wise ideas, because if anyone deserved a one-on-one title match, it was him for beating Hendry, and if he wasn’t preoccupied with his so-called best friend, he’d be champion.

Enter “Absolute” Ricky Saints.

He says if Page had put his ego away and stepped aside he’d be a two-time champ.

Tony D tells them all to get in line because the result will be the same, he’ll beat all three of their asses.

The lights go down and spotlights come up on DarkState in the crowd.

They hit the ring and a brawl breaks out to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Robert Stone informs the four men in the NXT Men’s Championship match at Stand & Deliver that they’ll be in an atomicos against DarkState at the top of the hour.

Izzi Dame vs. Sol Ruca

Collar and elbow, Dame forces her into the ropes, clean break, kick blocked, Izzi with a mat slam, rising kick from Ruca, corner uppercut, snapmare, kick, standing moonsault, cover for one! Sol surfing on her back, Romero Special attempt but she just stomps her knees! Dame taking it to her, uppercut into the corner, shoulder blocks, Ruca turns it around with a surfboard stomp into the corner.

Double knees, Izzu cuts her off, back suplex, Sol lands on her feet and hits an X-Factor! Wrecking ball dropkick, springboard tornillo to the floor and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Ruca with a lariat and both women are down and out! German suplex sets up a missile dropkick, Sol is rolling, kip-up, double knees… NOPE! Dame mounts a comeback, gets a nearfall, Ruca spears her and Izzi crashes to the floor! Action to the floor… ZARIA OUT OF NOWHERE TO TAKE SOL OUT WITH A SPEAR!

Dame rolls her back inside…

Izzi Dame wins by pinfall with a Liger Bomb.

Post-match, Zaria gets in the ring and yells at Sol Ruca.

Earlier today, Vanity Project walk into Robert Stone’s office and he complains about them interrupting a meeting with Blake Monroe.

Monroe arrives and Jackson Drake says Blake is, in the eyes of the Vanity Project, now and forever the NXT Women’s North American Championship, so they got her her very own replica title, which delights her. Robert points out she lost Saturday and says if she wants to work her way back to a real title shot, she can have a mixed tag against Tatum Paxley and Shiloh Hill tweaming with whatever Vanity boy she wants.

She picks Jackson.

Keanu Carver makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Elio Lafleur talks about having to give up his WWE Speed Men’s Championship and he hopes one of his buddies wins.

They do a little “I’m gonna win” back and forth and that’s that.

Jasper Troy vs. Josh Briggs vs. Keanu Carver

Briggs hot out the gates, taking Carver out, smashing Troy in the corner, putting boots to him, tides turn, Jasper stacks Keanu on top of Josh! Fireman’s carry on Carver, Briggs shoves him away, Keanu levels them, cover on Troy and Josh breaks it up! Carver shoves Briggs hard into the turnbuckles, whip across, putting boots to him!

Action to the floor, Briggs takes Carver out and we go to break!

Back from commercial, all three men slugging it out in the ring, Briggs off the ropes, head of steam, leaping lariat on Troy but Carver catches him with a running powerslam… NO DEAL! Match breaking down, Jasper with a Bossman Slam on Josh, chokeslam on Keanu, cover on Briggs… STILL NO!

Troy up top, Josh shoves him to the floor, trading desperate elbows with Carver, off the ropes, Briggs blasts him with a boot but gets run over by a returning Jasper! Goozle… KEANU POUNCES HIM OUT OF THE RING BEFORE HE CAN CHOKESLAM BRIGGS! Keanu with the Jackhammer and it is over!

Keanu Carver wins by pinfall with a Jackhammer on Josh Briggs.

Tatum Paxley and Shiloh Hill are chatting backstage.

Tatum is frustrated with Blake Monroe being obsessed with her and Shiloh asks if he’s given her some tin foil to see if she’s exhibiting magpie tendencies. Hill is excited for their mixed tag because Jackson Drake’s face is so punchable!

Ricky Saints rolls up to ask why they’re always giggling and calls them freaks before moving on.

Joe Hendry makes his entrance to send us to break.

DarkState (Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, & Saquon Shugars) vs. “All Ego” Ethan Page, Joe Hendry, “Absolute” Ricky Saints, & Tony D’Angelo

Tony D’Angelo taken in the corner and overwhelmed by DarkState to start, worked over, eventually Page tags in, suplex and a nearfall on Shugars, Saints in, James hip tosses him to the corner, he rolls under and tags out to Hendry! Joe with a big hip toss on Lennox, Dion slips under, whip reversed, big shoulder block from Joe!

Float over a suplex, James tags back in, Saints tags in, wristlock, walk the ropes, Old School connects! Fameasser for two, Page in, getting worked over, ducks under Lennox and tags right back out to D’Angelo! Tony with lariats, scoop and a slam, Dion manages to lay him out right as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Hendry with an Attitude Adjustment on Shugars and he’s going for a tag but Tony is indisposed and neither Page nor Saints want to relieve him! Myles Borne appears to take Dion Lennox out, Hendry crawling for the tag, he fights Saquon off, Tony D pulls Ricky and Ethan off the apron and tags in!

House afire, big German suplexes for everybody, fisherman buster… GRIFFIN BREAKS IT UP! Saints off the ropes, elbow to Osiris, back body drop to the apron and Page takes Osiris out with a Tan Sheamus! James hits a gutbuster on All Ego, Tony clotheslines him to the floor, Joe Hendry trust fall dive!

Shugars with an enzuigiri, D’Angelo uses his momentum off the ropes for a spear! Big spinebuster, All Ego blind tag, Tan Sheamus for the champ, Twisted Grin on Saquon and it is over!

“All Ego” Ethan Page, Joe Hendry, “Absolute” Ricky Saints, & Tony D’Angelo win by pinfall with Twisted Grin from Page on Saquon Shugars.

Post-match, D’Angelo pops up behind All Ego and chokeslams him!

We get a Jaida Parker promo about how soft Kelani Jordan is.

Birth Right make their entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Starboy Charlie, billed as Chazz “Starboy” Hall, gets an inset promo about how he’s gonna show the WWE Universe why they call him the Starboy.

Chazz “Starboy” Hall vs. Lexis King (WWE Speed Men’s Championship Tournament Match)

Hall ducks under, chops, across, handspring up and over, rolling solebutt, cover for one! King suplex, float over, backflip, Hurricanrana, only two! Lexis King wins by pinfall with the Coronation.

Backstage, Robert Stone gives Myles Borne a talking-to about running in during the atomicos match.

Tony D’Angelo arrives, Borne leaves, and Tony says he’s got no time for small talk and he’s taking all comers and after tonight, he wants Ethan Page.

D’Angelo turns to leave and has a staredown with Keanu Carver.

Shiloh Hill and Tatum Paxley make their entrance to send us to break.

Blake Monroe & Jackson Drake vs. Shiloh Hill & Tatum Paxley (Mixed Tag Match)

Paxley and Monroe square up with their respective belts, tug of war, Blake loses, drop toehold and we get a bell! Arm wringers, Monroe takes her down, grounded punches, back and forth, tags made, the men beat on each other, Blake doesn’t want to come back in but Tatum tags in and forces it for her.

Drake desperately helps her block Cemetery Drive, babyface come back, stereo Romero Specials as referee DA Brewer politely asks them to clear the ring. Falling back, letting go, off the ropes, hip checking the heels to the floor where Monroe gets caught by Swipe Right while Jackson crashes and burns as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Hill lays Drake out and then punches Smokes off the apron but Jackson gets Monroe’s help to take Shiloh out! Paxley tags in, shoulder blocks for Blake, dropkick for Drake, enzugiri for Monroe, punches and kicks keep the heels off-balance! Liger Bomb… NOPE! Jockeying for position, Blake with a hard headbutt…

Blake Monroe & Jackson Drake win by pinfall with Glamour Shot from Monroe on Tatum Paxley.

Robert Stone is interviewed backstage.

He says he’s taking calls and signing contracts, but he’s finalized a two-week special for the next two weeks, NXT Revenge, and he hypes that up before we go to break.

Back from commercial, Kali Armstrong cuts a promo about how she watched Stand & Deliver from home this weekend but next year it’s gonna be different, and gives us a capsule history of who she is and where she’s from.

We get a recap of the atomicos match from earlier today.

Commentary hypes up next week’s show.

Newly-minted NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice makes her entrance for her celebration.

She gets on the mic and thanks the crowd for their “You deserve it!” chants while she talks about being the first Cuban-American champion in WWE history. She talks about being the biggest signing of the year in 2022, with a whole WWE media tour about her coming to wrestling from MMA, and with all that hype, she thought she’d go straight to the top, but instead she took losses and had to basically start from scratch to earn her place in the division.

And now, looking back, she wasn’t ready, but she’s absolutely earned it.

Enter Fatal Influence.

Jacy Jayne says she’s done this dance before and all Lola’s done is set her up for a record-setting third title reign. The crowd boos unholy to the point where I can barely hear them as they talk. Jayne talks about her title reigns and running this division and she shouldn’t have to say it but she’s got no choice, she wants her rematch.

Enter Robert Stone.

He tells Jacy she can have her rematch next week, and Lola tells her she’s gonna knock her out again. Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid attack from behind and beat Vice down but she manages to fend her goons out and whip a backfist at Jayne that she only barely dodges as she bails to the floor!

That’s the show, folks.
