VIDEO: Man Caught While Attempting to Steal 2-Week-Old Baby in Abia Community

Residents of Umuajata Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State were thrown into shock after a man identified as Nzubechukwu allegedly attempted to steal a two-week-old baby from a nursing mother.

According to reports, the suspect gained access to the woman’s home at about 9 a.m. while she was Bosom feeding her newborn. He allegedly locked the door and threatened to kill her if she refused to hand over the baby.

During the struggle, the infant reportedly fell to the ground and began crying, but the mother quickly picked the child up and continued resisting the suspect.

Sources also alleged that the suspect attempted to segxwally assault the woman during the incident.

The suspect was eventually apprehended, and during interrogation, he allegedly confessed that a woman from Amizi Olokoro had promised to pay him the sum of ₦100,000 to bring a baby for her.

The incident has sparked outrage among residents of the community, with many calling for a thorough investigation and strict punishment for everyone connected to the crime.
