U-17 WWC: Flamingos head coach releases final squad

Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere, has unveiled his final 21-player squad for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Team captain Shakirat Moshood headlines the list, alongside goalkeeper Sylvia Echefu, defender Jumai Adebayo, and forward Queen Joseph. Other notable inclusions are goalkeeper Elizabeth Boniface, defenders Azeezat Oduntan and Christiana Sunday, midfielders Muinat Rotimi and Zainab Raji, and forwards Chisom Nwachukwu and Mariam Yahaya.

The team arrived in Casablanca, Morocco’s commercial hub, on Wednesday to begin the final phase of their preparations for the tournament.

Nigeria has been placed in Group D, where they will face Canada, France, and Samoa.

The Flamingos will open their campaign against Canada on Sunday, October 19, followed by a clash with France on October 22. Both matches are scheduled for 8 p.m. Nigerian time at the Football Academy Mohammed VI in Sale.

Their final group stage match will be against Samoa on October 25 at 5 p.m., also at the same venue.
