Tyla Lagos Tour Date Disappears From Her World Tour Schedule After Facing Criticism From Nigerians

South African singer Tyla has removed the Lagos, Nigeria, stop from the schedule of her ongoing world tour, days after some Nigerians launched an online campaign urging that the concert should not take place.

The backlash followed renewed discussions about xenophobic attacks in South Africa, with some Nigerians arguing that the singer should not perform in the country while concerns remain over past attacks in which Nigerians and other African nationals were reportedly targeted, displaced, and had their businesses affected.

A check of Tyla’s official tour schedule shows that the previously announced Lagos performance is no longer listed among the tour dates.

The development has fueled speculation on social media, with many users linking the removal of the Lagos date to the online campaign that called for the concert to be cancelled.
Despite the change to the tour schedule, neither Tyla nor her management has publicly explained why the Lagos date was removed.
