Two US troops and interpreter killed in Syria in Islamic State group ambush

Two American soldiers and a local interpreter were killed in central Syria on Saturday after an alleged Islamic State gunman opened fire on a joint US-Syrian patrol in Palmyra, US Central Command said. Three other troops were wounded before the attacker was killed by partner forces.
