Tinubu To Commission Six Key Projects in Lagos

President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on a two-day working visit to Lagos on Wednesday and Thursday, where he will inaugurate six major infrastructure projects completed by the state government.

The development was disclosed in a statement by Gboyega Akosile, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Akosile, in a post on X, said the president would commission “iconic, transformative and legacy projects” executed under the current administration.

“Please join the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to a two-day working visit to our dear State. While here, the President will commission some of our iconic, transformative and legacy projects,” he stated.

The projects listed for commissioning include the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building in Alausa, the Lagos State Multi-Agency Complex, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, the Maracana Stadium, and the Lagos Food Logistics Hub in Abijo.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, explained that the projects are aimed at addressing key infrastructure challenges across the state.

He noted that the Opebi–Mende–Ojota Link Bridge was designed to reduce traffic congestion and provide alternative routes for motorists in areas such as Allen, Opebi, Maryland, and Ojota.

Osiyemi added that the Geographic Information Service building would improve land administration through digital processes, while the Multi-Agency Complex would create more space for government agencies within the secretariat.

He further highlighted that the food logistics hub in Abijo is expected to enhance agro-trade with modern facilities, while the upgraded Tolu Schools Complex now features improved classrooms, ICT labs, and sports infrastructure.

According to him, the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle includes 19 mini football pitches to support grassroots sports development.

The visit is expected to showcase ongoing efforts by the Lagos State Government to expand infrastructure and drive urban development.
