I love a long-sleeved dress for easy one-piece dressing for the office. No need to add a blazer or find pants to go with the top you had in mind. This tie-waist midi dress from Nordstrom looks like a slightly more modern version of some of my favorite knee-length dresses hanging in my closet.

Do I wish it came in more colors? Of course, but we’ll take what we can get. (And, as morbid as this sounds, as I’m entering my fifth decade on this planet, I’m realizing how useful it is to have a go-to funeral outfit ready before you actually need it. This one has the benefit of also being appropriate for work!)
