Sosoliso Plane Crash Survivor Kechi Okwuchi Undergoes Another Surgery on Her Eyelid

Kechi Okwuchi, one of the survivors of the Sosoliso Airlines plane crash of December 10, 2005, has shared that she recently underwent another surgical procedure on her eyelid.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kechi revealed the update, noting that this surgery adds to the more than 140 procedures she has endured since the tragic crash.

The Sosoliso disaster, which claimed the lives of 106 people — including 60 of her schoolmates from Loyola Jesuit College — left Kechi with severe burn injuries that have required multiple reconstructive surgeries over the years.

She wrote: “Currently 3 days post-op from eyelid surgery. The skin on my eyelids is tight, making me unable to close my eyes or blink properly, which started to affect my eyesight, hence the need for surgery. My last surgery was in 2019 so it’s kinda weird to be back here after so long lol”
