Rivers schools to resume Monday – Education Ministry

The Rivers State Ministry of Education has directed all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state to resume for the second term on Monday, in line with the approved academic calendar.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Azibaolanari Uzoma-Nwogu, parents, guardians and other stakeholders in the education sector were urged to disregard rumours and misleading information circulating on social media suggesting a different resumption date.

The statement reaffirmed that all schools operating in the state are expected to comply strictly with the Rivers State Government–approved 2025/2026 academic calendar and resume as scheduled on Monday.

It further warned that appropriate sanctions would be applied to any school that fails to comply with the directive.
