Qatar Airways profit reached QAR 7.08bn in 2025/26 as the airline expanded globally and maintained strong operational performance.

DOHA: Qatar Airways profit climbed to QAR 7.08bn (US$1.94bn) during the 2025/26 financial year, reflecting strong operational resilience despite geopolitical instability affecting the aviation sector in the final month of the reporting period. The airline group said the results highlighted sustained passenger demand, cargo growth and continued confidence in its long-term expansion plans.

The carrier transported more than 41.8 million passengers across its international network while maintaining extensive global connectivity through Hamad International Airport. Qatar Airways Cargo also reinforced its industry leadership after moving more than 1.43 million tonnes of chargeable freight and securing a 12 per cent global market share. The airline additionally achieved an 86 per cent on-time performance, earning the Cirium Platinum Award for Operational Excellence and placing it among the world’s most punctual airlines.

Group Chief Executive Officer Hamad Al-Khater said the organisation faced one of its most demanding years while continuing to deliver consistent standards across global operations. He praised employees for managing operational challenges professionally across more than 90 countries and said the company remained financially strong while rebuilding its international schedule.

Qatar Airways profit was also supported by major strategic developments during the year. The group signed landmark agreements with Boeing and GE Aerospace covering up to 210 aircraft and 400 engines, marking one of the largest fleet expansion commitments in commercial aviation history. Qatar Airways was also named World’s Best Airline 2025 by Skytrax for a record ninth time.

The airline said Qatar Airways profit positions the group for further growth as it plans to serve more than 160 destinations by summer 2026. Passengers will also benefit from expanded Starlink connectivity onboard Boeing 777, Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-8 aircraft operating across long-haul routes worldwide.
