A Premier League footballer was arrested on his training pitch on suspicion of making a sex tape without consent, according to the Sun.

Teammates were left in shock as the international star was taken away at 11am on Friday, January 10,2025, for six hours of questioning. Two phones were seized by police, who examined them for any footage or recordings related to the incident.

A source said as quoted by the Sun:

A lot of stars initially thought it was a prank when two uniformed officers strode on to the pitches during training. Everyone was in disbelief. Players were open-mouthed. No one was sure what was going on.

The player was later released with no further action, and he returned to training the following day. He is expected to feature in his club’s FA Cup third-round fixture this weekend.

Police confirm arrest

The Sun reports that the police took action after a woman accused the footballer of secretly filming their sexual encounter, despite her allegedly asking him not to.

She reportedly felt violated and humiliated after he allegedly kicked her out of his home shortly after their encounter. The woman claimed she had refused to participate in recording a sex tape or engaging in a threesome.

Police confirmed saying:

A man in his 20s was arrested at an address, on suspicion of voyeurism. It was determined no further action would be taken due to insufficient evidence.

Neither the footballer or the complaint’s name was mentioned in the report.

The football club has declined to comment on the matter.
