Pochettino confirm £29m player is no longer injured ahead of Everton clash

Chelsea travel to Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon to play Everton in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side suffered defeat in midweek away to Manchester United, which continued the season theme of one step forward and two steps back.

The Blues could be in for a very difficult afternoon against Sean Dyche’s Everton team, who sit 17th in the league table right now. However, it’s worth flagging they’d actually be 10th in the division and above Chelsea without their points deduction.

Injury boost
Noni Madueke, 21, may have struggled for minutes in the Blues XI this season. He’s still been a regular in matchday squads, though.

The right-winger did actually miss the midweek loss versus Man United, with the club naming him on their pre-match injury list (official website).

However, we’ve spotted that the England Under-21 international has been removed off today’s injury list (official website) previewing the Everton fixture this Sunday.

There was no mention of the £29million attacker (Sky Sports) from Pochettino in Friday’s press conference. The club appears to have jumped the gun with positive news on the youngster, though.

Noni Madueke available against Everton
Madueke’s return after a very short absence will immediately help strengthen a bench that looked very inexperienced at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old’s proven at PSV Eindhoven, plus his brief chances at Chelsea, that he’s got serious individual quality. In fact, we would love for the skilful wide player to get some more opportunities to play.

recently claimed that Madueke could end up leaving on loan in January to help him play more often.

Our suggestion to Pochettino would be to play him regularly during this busy festive run of games because the answer to his problems could be sat right there on the bench.
