"Peter Obi won 2023 election, results altered for Tınubu" – Ex-SGF Lawal
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has made a bold claim about the outcome of the 2023 presidential election. According to Lawal, Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate, won the election, but the results were altered to favor Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress candidate.
Lawal stated that his team collected data and monitored results from the field, which showed Obi's victory. However, some results were allegedly manipulated to favor Tinubu. Lawal described Tinubu as "full of himself" and arrogant, saying, "The problem with Bola Tinubu is that he thinks I'm the one that offended him; I did not offend him, he offended me and he is full of himself"
This claim is not isolated, as Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation and ex-Rivers State Governor, made a similar assertion. Amaechi stated that Peter Obi won the presidential election in Rivers State, but the results were altered to favor Tinubu. While Amaechi's claim was specific to Rivers State, Lawal's assertion pertains to the overall presidential election outcome.
