The final air-cooled generation of the Porsche 911, codenamed 993, is a desirable machine not only because it's the last of its kind, but also because it's arguably the best. Yet for all its plaudits, the mid-1990s icon does have a few shortcomings. Unlike later water-cooled 911s (and the legendary Porsche 930), the 993 never offered its flagship turbocharged powertrain in a convertible body shell – at least officially. However, the company's Sonderwunsch special-order program did produce a limited number of droptop 911s with turbocharged flat-six engines, and one of them just popped up for sale.
