In a recent statement via his official X account, Mahdi Shehu, a well-known human rights activist and political commentator, has voiced his concerns regarding the federal government’s proposal to increase the minimum wage to 60,000 Naira.

In his statement titled ‘INSULT BEYOND ALL BOARDERS.’

Mahdi Shehu criticized the differences between the proposed wage increase and the lavish spending habits of the executive and legislative branches.

“Offering N50k as minimum wage to the pauperised Nigerian worker on the face of executive and legislative extravagant spending and lifestyle is an insult beyond all defined and undefined boarders,” Mahdi Shehu wrote.
