WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JULY 2

There’s always the diamond-friendly, sitting in the Laugh Motel. The heart’s filthy lesson with her hundred miles to hell, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

Jaida Parker vs. “Michin” Mia Yim (Street Fight)

Yim brings a trash can with her to the ring, smashes Parker with it and then throws her into the steel steps! Mia pulling all sorts of plunder out of the ring, toolbox, she’s got a sock full of quarters and swings it but Jaida sidesteps and it flies under the ring! Putting Parker inside, kendo stick, trash can lid, trash can, just plain whipping her with her belt even!

Jaida smashes her into the trash can with a step-up seated senton, cover for two! To the floor, Michin wings a bottle of water at her and throws her into the post! Sidestep, Jaida goes through the barricade, both women are down and we go to break!

Back from commercial, ring strewn with plunder, including a claw hammer(?!) Yim gets a black bag and dumps a pile of nuts and washers out on a pile of chairs in the middle of the ring! Package piledriver countered, back body drop and Mia goes hard into the pile! Parker down and out in the corner, Michin puts the can on her and sandwiches her in the corner... NOPE!

Jaida blasts her with a fire extinguisher, charging in... AND THE HIP ATTACK PUTS MIA YIM THROUGH THE WALL! Back inside, off the ropes a few times...

Jaida Parker wins by pinfall with a running hip attack.

Backstage, Arianna Grace sighs dramatically while Karmen Petrovic wraps the hilt of her sword.

Eventually Karmen asks what’s wrong and Grace tries to play it off before sucking her in and saying that Sol Ruca snatched her soul and now she’s not going to Heat Wave and she’s devastated because she’s from Toronto and she was looking forward to her people. Petrovic says she’s from Toronto too and Arianna says she’s not as Canadian as she is...?

Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx roll up to talk trash and Karmen steps up and issues a challenge but the mean girls laugh it off and leave.

Je’Von Evans gets a video package highlighting his meteoric rise.

New Catch Republic make their entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a Kelani Jordan hype reel.

Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate)

Walker and Bate to start, feeling out, tags made, Dunne trying to grind Tank’s arm down, NCR in control as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Pete still working Tank over, stomping the fingers, Hank in, powerbomb / lariat combination, Bate runs in and starts clearing house! Off the ropes, tope con giro, big men catch him and powerbomb him into his own partner on the apron! Walker up top, finally Dunne sidesteps and gets the tag!

Wishbone the fingers to set up the rebound lariat, Dunne with a double stomp to Hank, Tyler off the top...

New Catch Republic win by pinfall with a Spiral Tap from Tyler Bate on Tank Ledger.

Post match we get nice respectful handshakes all around.

Shawn Spears cuts a promo about how he came back to guide the young inexperienced talent.

Brinley Reece makes her entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Robert Stone and Stevie Turner are both trying to take credit for Oro Mensah’s story and Stone tells him he’s got a match against Myles Borne tonight and he insists she should tell him the bad news. They bicker until Mensah yells at them demanding to know what’s going on.

Stevie tells him he won’t be going to Heat Wave because of his recent altercations with “All Ego” Ethan Page and he takes it far better than either of them expected and goes to prepare for his match.

Brinley Reece vs. Izzi Dame

Athletic in the feeling out, handspring lariat from Reece, Dame crashes to the floor, back and forth in front of the apron, Izzi rams her into the corner of the ring! Back inside, float over, slide under, here’s Tatum Paxley being a weirdo on the apron, neafall in the aftermath!

Pinning predicaments coming up empty, Dame floats over, big boot...

Izzi Dame wins by pinfall with a slam.

Post-match, Paxley slithers into the ring and chases Izzi out of it.

We go to the Chase U classroom where Andre Chase says they’re going to win the titles back at Heatwave. Duke Hudson and Ridge Holland are deep in conversation and Chase tells him to spit it out, and Duke admits that they didn’t beat Good Brothers clean and he offers Andre the proof.

Andre asks Ridge why he cheated and Holland apologizes and says he just wanted to be part of a family and he was just trying to help. Chase says nobody is free of mistakes and he asks Holland to stay back while the main four of them go to Heat Wave.

Lola Vice and Roxanne Perez are shown walking backstage and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Lola Vice is already in the ring, mic in hand.

She tells Roxanne Perez the clock is ticking and her days are counted—

Enter Roxanne Perez, flanked by a pair of security guards. Perez says they’re here to make sure she doesn’t get attacked and left laying again and Vice can stop trying to intimidate her because she can see right through her and she knows Heat Wave is the most important match of her career.

Within a few months Lola has built a bigger name for herself in NXT than she did in Bellator, and her big problem is that Sunday is a wrestling match and so she’s in Roxanne’s world. Styles make fights, and she’s not fighting Vice’s fight, she’s going to make her wrestle her style of match.

Lola gets emotional talking about her journey, about how she trained for the Olympics but her mom got sick so she went into MMA to provide for her family and at 20 she was already fighting at Madison Square Garden. Her mom is going to be watching on Sunday and she can’t wait to tell her she did it.

Perez makes fun of her and says the reality is when you step into the ring with her, you don’t get to call your mom like that. Ask Natalya, ask Jordynne Grace, ask Lyra Valkyria, she’s already building a legacy. Lola is still half-crying as she says she’s going to show why she’s the greatest MMA crossover star when she wins the title.

She takes one security guard out with a backfist and tells Roxanne that they might be in her world now, but after she knocks her out, she won’t know what world she’s in.

“All Ego” Ethan Page cuts a promo about how he’s going to win the title at Heat Wave.

No Quarter Catch Crew are backstage getting ready for Myles Borne’s match and Charlie Dempsey tells him he has the power advantage and he should use it, and we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a hype reel for Eddy Thorpe doing a DJ set that feeds into Lexis King starting shit with him because DJs aren’t real musicians.

Myles Borne vs. Oro Mensah

Borne with a waistlock, shift to a side headlock, takedown, arm wringer, Mensah putting something together, Penalty Kick, diving heel kick, fired up! Off the ropes, big lariat, shoot the half, cover for two and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Myles with a side headlock, Oro breaks his grip, they move to trading forearms with one another! Quebrada takes Borne off his feet, exploder suplex follows, roll through, whip reversed, dropkick on the button! Kemp tries to pass Myles a pair of brass knuckles as Mensah comes charging in...

Oro Mensah wins by pinfall with a rolling Koppu kick.

We get a Wes Lee video package and an equal and opposite package for Oba Femi.

Backstage, Gallus are brawling with Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Brinley Reece is walking backstage with Edris Enofe and Malik Blade.

She says clearly it’s not working between them and she’s gonna go work out and they can come or not, it’s fine.

Good Brothers literally grab the camera and scream a promo at OTM calling them out.

Carlee Bright vs. Wendy Choo

Bright hammering her in the ropes, Choo with a mat slam, wristlock, kip-up, arm drag reverses, headscissors fights out, side headlock counters. Back and forth, Wendy gets her down...

Wendy Choo wins by submission with a cutthroat choke.

It’s Trick Williams’ turn for a promo package.

Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jayne make their entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a video package where “Heartbreak Man” Shawn Michaels addresses Brooks Jensen, who has in fact not been released from his contract but rather just asked to take a sabbatical and clear his head. He believes in second chances and doesn’t want to just let him go, so next week he’s inviting Brooks to NXT to have a conference with himself and general manager Ava Raine to determine his future in NXT.

Jazmyn Nyx vs. Karmen Petrovic

Back and forth, Petrovic with the first cover, only two, Jacy Jayne pops up on the apron to run interference. Whip reversed, up and over turned into an Alarm Clock, Shining Wizard, cover for two! Figure four headscissors, Fallon Henley shown watching backstage. Karmen with flying forearms, kicks to the midsection and an armwringer!

Jawing with Jacy, Nyx takes advantage...

Jazmyn Nyx wins by pinfall with a Pele kick.

Backstage, Axiom and Nathan Frazer are talking strategy but Frazer isn’t talking about Heatwave, he’s talking about his match tomorrow against Xavier Woods on WWE Speed. Axiom is upset that he’s not prioritizing the tag title match, Nathan says they’re the best team in the game now and he’ll be fully-focused when the time comes.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Karmen Petrovic goes to Ava Raine to demand a match against Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx.

Ava says her friend already came and got her a match on the preshow of Heatwave. Karmen asks where Natalya is but Raine has to break it to her that Arianna Grace is the one, and Grace comes up to be excited about the match.

Sol Ruca gets a hype reel.

Commentary hypes up the Heat Wave card.

“All Ego” Ethan Page, Je’Von Evans, and Shawn Spears are all in the ring for the contract signing already.

Trick Williams makes his entrance.

He comes in all fired up and Page says he appreciates that he brings the same energy no matter what and he fights for the people and if he’s being real he’s probably the hottest thing in all of WWE right now. He’s seen this swagger before at Battleground in a match that he would have won—

Trick cuts him off and says he got whooped and to get to the point. All Ego says this Sunday ain’t the same thing as Battleground and he doesn’t have to beat Trick to win the title, but he CAN beat him. He can, but he doesn’t have to, and the odds are against him. Williams says he knows the stakes but his back is always against the wall and he comes through every time.

He’s probably got less experience than anyone who’s ever held the title, but he wears it well and he puts in the work. All Ego’s always talking about his resume but Trick Willy has one too, and on Sunday he’s gonna add another name to the list. Shawn Spears pipes up and tells Williams to keep doing his thing because that emotion is going to put the title in Spears’ hands.

That emotion got him pinned last week and spoiler, at Heat Wave his hand is going to be raised again. He calls out Je’Von Evans for being young and inexperienced but never fear, he’s going to be with him the entire way. He made it to the main event but he’s just happy to be there!

Je’Von says everybody always uses his age against him and he can’t lie, he’s nervous but he’s also excited because everybody’s gonna know that that boy is bouncy! We’re talking about experience and so tell everyone how much experience you’ve had holding the title, Spears? Oh that’s right he doesn’t have any.

Evans says he’s gonna leave as champion and show everyone what a champion looks like. Shawn tries to sow dissent with Trick and Ethan takes a poke too, pointing out that he and Spears have both beaten Je’Von, but has Williams? He doesn’t like his odds very much. Trick says he doesn’t like Page either, and it’s every man for himself and he likes Je’Von a lot but he’s not winning the title from him on Sunday.

They devolve to straightforward “nuh-uh I’m gonna win” talk and Spears throws the first hands, shoving Evans! All Ego attacks Trick, he eats a flapjack through the table right before Je’Von slams Shawn through their table! Williams and Evans square up over the title.

That’s the show, folks.
