Nigeria clash a must-win for us – Bafana Bafana Gk Chaine

Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Sipho Chaine has insisted that Tuesday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria is a must-win encounter for the team.

South Africa are on the verge of booking their first World Cup ticket since 2010, and a victory against the Super Eagles could seal qualification depending on other results in Group C.

Chaine, who plays for Orlando Pirates, stressed that the squad is fully focused on the challenge ahead.

“We are just focused on the game that is coming up. It is a 90 minutes game, and it means a lot to us, but when you break it down, you simply have to win the game,” he told ewn.co.za.

The match will take place at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm Nigerian time on Tuesday.
