MY LEAKING GAS CYLINDER THAT ALMOST CUT MY LIFE

What a life?

What is life without a legacy?

Oh! Didi-Omah is that how you want to die? That’s was the question running on my mind.

If I tell you that’s I’m okay – I lied!

It all happen during the evening hours on Saturday, December 2, 2023; I was hungry and moved to cook beans for late lunch eating as busy and lazy Didi-Omah, that I am.

Now everything is ready including the selected beans. I light up my gas cooker to start having my delicious beans cooked. Along the line, the gas finished up, no more fire on the cooker – hungry and that got me sad.

Thanks to God, I had up to 3,500 naira with me, I quickly move to refill the cylinder with 1,300 naira for 1KG at Ekowe (quiet expensive).

Forward to the time, now back to the kitchen (after some hours outside), light up my gas cooker, boom fire round the cylinder. Note my burner is fixed to my cylinder – was surprised!

Haaaaaa…..

Managed to arrange things (cylinder with the burner), just to have my beans cooked; to success, everything went well, I got my meal done and ready to serve. After taking my meal, I left the house to meet others.

I thought it was the burner yesterday, both at night still sensing gas leaking smell. Didn’t use the gas anymore last night, thanks none died due to gas inhaling during sleeping.

Today, Sunday, December 3, 2023 – I came to fully discover that it was the cylinder. The cylinder got multiple (up to three) pin holes close to the burner placement; that causes the gas leakage.

Thanks to Adonay, I’m alive to update my blog again…….

I don’t know what to say, don’t understand the safety – just dumb about this event! I am sorry for cutting the story half way. My gas leaked out through out last night. Now I don’t have gas anymore to cook or prepare meal for me to be agile and capable of attending lectures, engaging into activities or attempting assignments or carry out projects or anything at all.

What should I do?

Me, seeking help – What did I do to deserve all these things….. Even in this hard economy and living in this expensive riverine community called Ekowe as an undergraduate.
