Moment Black Bear Attacks Zookeeper During Stage Dance

A video has gone viral showing the shocking moment a black bear attacked a zookeeper in front of a crowd.

According to reports, the zookeepers were attempting to make the bears perform by having them stand in a row and jump over obstacles. However, the plan took an unexpected turn when one of the black bears turned on a zookeeper and knocked him down.

The incident occurred in Zhejiang, China, at Hangzhou Safari Park.

In the video, the zookeeper is seen dragging the bear’s paw as it stood upright before walking onto the stage. Unfortunately, the bear suddenly turned back and pinned him down. Another staff member was seen trying to stop the attack by hitting the bear with a plastic stool, while other staff rushed in with sticks, a basketball hoop top, and a board in an effort to move the bear away.

Eventually, the bear released the zookeeper, and no injuries were reported.

Park officials revealed that the zookeeper was carrying a large bag filled with apples and carrots, which they suspect may have triggered the bear’s reaction.

A spokesperson commented on the incident, saying:”At 3:50pm on December 6, during our animal behaviour demonstration, an incident occurred in which a black bear attempted to snatch food from the trainer.

“Although neither the trainer nor the animal was injured, our on-site response was insufficient, causing an unpleasant experience for visitors. We sincerely apologise for this.

“In response, the park has suspended the black bear behaviour demonstration. We will also provide comfort and conduct observations for the animals involved to ensure their well-being.

“At the same time, we will thoroughly review shortcomings and make improvements to strengthen management and emergency response. We express our sincere gratitude to all citizens for their concern and support.”
