Logan Paul on John Cena match: Mission accomplished

Logan Paul remains an interesting case study in an outside talent coming into WWE and being good enough to be a true superstar in the industry while only being able to give so much of himself to it. He’s not quite part time but he’s definitely not full time. Then again, the ever evolving landscape dictates he doesn’t necessarily need to be. Triple H and co. tend to cycle talent, giving veterans time off as needed.

But Paul is not a veteran, he’s a savvy social media influencer who is out to do the best for himself. That’s what made the feud with John Cena, a man synonymous with giving his everything to the business for longer than any reasonable human should, so compelling. The idea was very clearly to elevate Paul into something of a more respected position within the industry, even if he doesn’t actually goes as far as Cena in turns of time in.

To that end, we’ll have to wait and see.

For Paul’s part, though, he seems to think the match they had at Clash in Paris this past Sunday in France was a huge success:

“I wanted a match with John Cena to prove that I not only belong in the business but can bring the best out of the business. Mission accomplished. For me, last night was peak professional wrestling.

“Fair play to John, an absolute mastermind of the craft. He wrestles better than Pablo Picasso paints… idk if it’ll ever be understood how good he is.

“Although my hand wasn’t raised, I came away with more victories than I can count. Grateful.

“Go toe to toe with another GOAT, check

“Ps – les fans français sont putain de fous.”

I’m not sure we can argue much with him on this one, y’all.
