Kofi Akpaloo picked up in EOCO raid

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly arrested Kofi Akpaloo, leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), in a dawn operation at his residence in Kumasi.

Sources close to the operation say the arrest was conducted by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) from the agency’s headquarters in Accra, in collaboration with its Ashanti Regional Office.

The operation is said to have been executed peacefully and without incident.

While the exact reason for Mr. Akpaloo’s arrest has not yet been made public, he is currently being transported to Accra, where he is expected to assist with ongoing investigations.

As of now, EOCO has not issued an official statement regarding the arrest or the nature of the investigation.
