Jay-Z is hitting back hard against explosive allegations tying him to disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. In a new lawsuit, the rapper says the woman who previously accused him of sexual assault admitted she fabricated her claims under pressure from her attorneys.

According to documents obtained by Rolling Stone, Jay-Z — real name Shawn Carter — described the accusations as part of an “evil conspiracy” to wreck his reputation with “wildly horrific” lies. The accusations were first made in an October lawsuit alleging that both Combs and Carter raped the woman, identified as Jane Doe, at an afterparty.

Carter’s legal filing claims that after his representatives spoke directly with Doe, she confessed her story was false. The suit also alleges Doe told NBC News in a separate interview that her legal team pushed her to continue with the fabricated allegations.

“Doe has now voluntarily admitted directly to representatives of Mr. Carter that the story brought before the world in court and on global television was just that: a false, malicious story,” the lawsuit states. “She has admitted that Mr. Carter did not assault her; and that indeed it was Buzbee himself … who pushed her to go forward with the false narrative … in order to leverage a maximum payday.”

The filing underscores Carter’s close but long-public ties to Combs, a music industry powerhouse who has hosted star-studded events attended by Jay-Z over the years. Combs is currently serving time for sex trafficking and racketeering after his arrest in September 2024.

The new legal twist not only attempts to clear Carter’s name but also throws fresh scrutiny on the handling of high-profile sexual assault cases involving some of the biggest figures in hip-hop. Neither NBC News nor Doe’s former attorneys have responded publicly to the latest accusations.
