Replacing a cracked windshield on the limited-edition centre-drive McLaren F1 two-door Coupé will cost you $33,000.

The replacement cost will buy a brand new 2024 Toyota RAV4 Crossover SUV, which starts at $28,475.

Each of the windshields cost $250k while installation cost $8k, though owners of F1 won’t mind due to the value of their cars.

Today, examples of F1 command an auction price of $20m, considering just 106 examples were built between 1992 and 1998.

An unnamed source familiar with McLaren F1 replacement parts told Motor1 that each of the windshields cost $25k, excluding the $8,000 to install it, though the current owners of F1 won’t mind that price considering the value of their cars.

When the car came up for sale, Mr Bean, who bought his McLaren F1 for $800,000+ in August 1997, told Andrew Frankel in a Daily Telegraph article that “it was never bought as an investment.”

“I bought it for the quality of the thinking that went into its design, and now it has become a thing of value, it is time for it to be enjoyed by someone else.”

With a top speed of 240 mph (386 km/h), the 618-horsepower McLaren F1 two-door Coupé, which boasts a center-based driving seat, remains one of the fastest production cars ever made.
