Following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the life of President Ebrahim Raisi, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, has officially declared a five-day period of mourning for the nation.

In an official statement released a day after the crash in East Azerbaijan province that also claimed the lives of other officials, Khamenei expressed his condolences to the people of Iran and announced the period of mourning.
