Four persons have d!ed after a commercial bus crashed into a stationary truck in Ogun State. The road crash occurred around 11 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026 at the Ijebu-Imushin axis of the Ijebu OdeOre Expressway.  The crash, which was attributed to speeding, involved a white Toyota Hiace bus with registration number BDJ 482 XC and a blue MAN Diesel truck belonging to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc. The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, Afolabi Odunsi-Oyewole, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday. A white Toyota Hiace bus with registration number BDJ482XC collided with a blue MAN Diesel truck with registration number RSH969XC belonging to Julius Berger. The incident occurred at the Ijebu-Imushin axis of the Ijebu OdeOre Expressway, she said  Regrettably, all four occupants of the bustwo male adults and two female adultssustained fatal injuries and were confirmed d3ad at the scene. No survivors or other injuries were recorded. Odunsi-Oyewole said preliminary investigations revealed that the crash was caused by speeding. She explained that the truck was being towed when the towing chain suddenly snapped, leaving the vehicle stationary on the road . The speeding Toyota Hiace bus subsequently rammed into the stationary truck.  "Following the collision, the driver of the towing vehicle fled the scene, leaving the truck behind, she added. The FRSC spokesperson noted that rescue operatives arrived at the scene within eight minutes of receiving the distress call. She added that the remains of the victims had been evacuated and deposited at the State Hospital mortuary in Ijebu Ode. Odunsi-Oyewole said officers of the Nigeria Police Force from the Imushin Division had taken custody of the vehicles involved in the crash and commenced further investigation. Meanwhile, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Akinwunmi Fasakin, urged motorists to strictly adhere to speed limits, particularly during night travel and ensure that towing equipment meets safety standards to prevent avoidable tragedies.The post Four d!e as bus crashes into stationary truck in Ogun appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
