Finidi confident Rivers United will overturn deficit against Black Bulls

Rivers United head coach Finidi George has expressed confidence that his team can overcome Black Bulls of Mozambique and advance to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Nigerian side will host the second leg of their second preliminary round clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday (today).

Black Bulls hold a slim advantage after securing a 1-0 win in the first leg, but both teams are chasing their first-ever appearance in the group stage of the competition.

Finidi said his players are fully prepared and motivated to deliver a winning performance.

“It’s going to be a very interesting match and we are prepared for the challenge. We will play to win,” Finidi told Rivers United media.

The coach also confirmed the return of Samson Obi and Handsome Surveyor, who missed the trip to Mozambique. Both players, along with Rivio Ayemwenre, will be assessed to determine their readiness for the crucial fixture.
