Dubai airport operations are ramping up after disruption, with DXB sustaining global connectivity and now restoring full flight capacity.

DUBAI: Dubai airport operations are accelerating as airspace restrictions across the UAE have been fully lifted, allowing a steady return to normal flight schedules. The resilience of Dubai airport operations was evident during recent regional disruption, as Dubai International (DXB) continued to maintain global connectivity despite major constraints.

Between late February and the end of April, DXB handled around 6 million guest journeys, more than 32,000 aircraft movements and 213,000 tonnes of cargo. Despite limited airspace availability and shifting conditions, the airport remained fully operational, ensuring safe and continuous movement of passengers and goods.

According to Dubai Airports, operations were carefully aligned with available regional routing capacity. Flight schedules, ground handling and passenger flows were adjusted in real time, supported by close coordination across airlines and aviation authorities.

Now, with all precautionary restrictions lifted, Dubai airport operations are entering a recovery phase. Daily flight movements are being scaled up, while airlines are progressively restoring their schedules. Capacity is currently aligned with regional airspace availability, with ongoing collaboration to optimise traffic flows across neighbouring corridors.

The oneDXB ecosystem, including major carriers like Emirates and flydubai, played a critical role in maintaining continuity during the disruption. Their coordinated response ensured stability while enabling a rapid operational ramp-up as conditions improved.

Dubai airport operations remain central to global travel, particularly in the international transfer segment. As regional conditions stabilise, demand is expected to return quickly, reinforcing DXB’s position as one of the world’s leading aviation hubs.
