DAY 31 — THE GOSPEL IN ONE SENTENCE: A CALL TO FAITH AND MISSION
Date: Friday, January 31, 2026

Focus Scripture:
“…Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” — Mark 1:14–15

What You Will Walk Away With

  1. Clarity that the Gospel is a divine call demanding a personal response of faith and repentance.
  2. Conviction that true faith in Christ inevitably leads to a transformed life and a renewed direction under His lordship.
  3. Commission that everyone who receives the Gospel is also sent on a Gospel mission—saved people become sent people.

Devotional
The gospel is not merely information to be admired or theology to be debated—it is a divine call that demands a response.

When Jesus first announced the gospel, His message was clear and urgent: repent and believe. Repentance is not simply feeling sorry for sin; it is a turning of the heart, mind, and direction back toward God. Faith is not mere agreement with facts; it is a wholehearted trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The gospel confronts us with truth about our sin, our need, and God’s grace. It calls us to leave self-rule and surrender to Christ’s authority. This call is not meant to condemn but to rescue, restore, and renew. Through repentance, we turn from sin. Through faith, we receive forgiveness, new life, and reconciliation with God.

The gospel does not stop with personal salvation. Everyone who receives Christ is also entrusted with His mission. Those who believe the gospel become witnesses of the gospel. Saved people become sent people. Grace received becomes grace proclaimed. The gospel calls us to believe, to turn, and to go. This is not only the message that begins the Christian life—it is the message that sustains it, propelling us outward in love and testimony.

Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for calling me through the gospel.
Grant me grace to repent where I have wandered and to believe You more fully.
Use my life as a witness of Your saving power and love.
Let me live surrendered to Your mission every day.
Amen.

Declaration

  • I declare that I respond to the Gospel daily with ongoing faith and repentance.
  • I declare that Jesus Christ is my Lord, my Savior, and my King.
  • I declare that I am saved by grace and sent with purpose to proclaim His Gospel.

Action Points

  1. Examine your heart honestly before God. Identify one area of thought, habit, or relationship that requires repentance (a turning back to God) and take that step today.
  2. Reaffirm your faith in Christ aloud or in prayer. Declare, “Jesus, You are my Lord and Savior. I trust in You alone for my salvation and life.”
  3. Share the core message of the Gospel—the call to repent and believe—with at least one person this week, whether a seeker or a fellow believer needing encouragement.

Memory Verse
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” — Mark 1:15
