Let’s check in on some notable moments in CMLL, which is honoring women’s wrestling in the month of October. Mercedes Moné is ready to defend the CMLL women’s title on an all women show, Tessa Blanchard won and lost in her return matches, the tournament finalists are set for the Universal Championship, and the CMLL Japan Women’s Championship has a new titleholder.

Starting with Tessa Blanchard. She was victorious in her return to CMLL (Oct. 10, 2025). Blanchard unexpectedly parted ways with CMLL to sign with TNA last year. She was one-half of the women’s world tag team champions with Lluvia. Due to the departure, the champs were stripped. Fast forward to Blanchard’s return match in CMLL, and her opponent was her former teammate. Blanchard prevailed over Lluvia with a flying Codebreaker to win the Lightning Match with less than ten seconds remaining.

A few days later (Oct. 14, 2025), Blanchard went down in defeat to Persephone via Razor’s Edge.

The win adds momentum for Persephone when she challenges Mercedes Moné for the CMLL Women’s World Championship this week on Friday night (Oct. 17, 2025) in Arena Mexico. The CEO isn’t too concerned about the threat that Persephone presents.
