Circus Performer Hospitalized After Falling Mid-Air During Hair-Hanging Act

A shocking incident occurred at a circus show after performer Aliane Dias was hospitalised following a fall during her hair-hanging act.

The accident happened on the night of Saturday, September 13, when Dias was lifted mid-air, spinning for about 20 seconds before suddenly crashing to the ground.

Eyewitnesses said the performer slammed into the floor, leaving the audience in shock. Emergency responders quickly rushed to the stage, and she was carried out on a stretcher before being taken to the hospital.

The circus company, Circo Robatiny, confirmed the incident in a statement released the next day saying: “The audience watched in shock, but Aliane was quickly rescued and taken to the Municipal Emergency Room, where she received prompt and effective care.

“Thankfully, she is in good condition and already recovering.

“In this act, she is suspended by her hair from a steel cable, and the artist herself is responsible for tying it according to protocol.

“In this case, she admitted the tying was done differently from usual, which caused it to come undone and led to the accident.

“The reason is still unknown; we are awaiting her return and full recovery to learn more details.”
