Big Daddy Sugar Bags Prestigious Ibadan Heritage Award from CCII, Dedicates Award to God and Ibadan indigenes Worldwide

Mogaji, Honorable Olajide Olatoye, popularly known as Big Daddy Sugar, has been conferred with the prestigious Icon of Ibadan Heritage award by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII). The colourful ceremony took place at the Ibadan Civic Centre, drawing a large gathering of dignitaries, community leaders, political stakeholders, and well-wishers from across and beyond Oyo State.

Following the award presentation, guests were treated to a grand reception held at Ajorosun Club, where attendees celebrated the honour bestowed on the respected community figure. The event showcased the rich cultural heritage of Ibadan, while highlighting the contributions of individuals committed to the development of the city.

Speaking with journalists, Hon. Olatoye expressed deep gratitude, dedicating the award to God Almighty and all Ibadan indigenes both in Nigeria and in the diaspora. He described the recognition as a call to greater service and a testament to the collective efforts of the people who have supported his journey.

The award recipient also extended heartfelt appreciation to numerous individuals and groups who graced the occasion, including Lagelu PDP leaders under the leadership of Chief Oribayo Okeyode, the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru, and the lawmaker representing Lagelu, Hon. Akintunde Emmanuel (AKT).

He further acknowledged Chief Benedict Akika, women leaders led by Alhaja Habibat, the Chairman of Ibadan North-West Local Government, youths, business partners, Ward 13 constituents, staff of MAK polytechnic, Saki, members of Olatoye Sugar Foundation, Ajorosun Club members, traditional leaders including Baales and Mogajis, as well as members of the Big Daddy Sugar Media Network.

Hon. Olatoye did not fail to appreciate those who were unable to attend, noting that their support remains invaluable. He attributed the honour to his positive contributions to society and reaffirmed his commitment to doing even more for the growth and development of Ibadan land.
