Atlético Madrid have announced that an agreement has been reached with Atalanta for the transfer of Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman.

The Nigerian international arrived in Spain on Sunday to undergo medical examinations ahead of the move. The deal is understood to be worth a guaranteed €35 million, with performance-related bonuses that could raise the total package by a further €5 million.

Lookman is set to put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract, which will see him earn approximately €7 million per season in wages.

“Atletico Madrid and Atalanta have agreed on the transfer of 28-year-old Nigeria international Ademola Lookman, who is already in Madrid. The agreement is pending the corresponding medical examination and the formalisation of his contract,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
