The facelifted Camry has arrived with sleeker looks, AWD, and a hybrid-only powertrain. The exterior of the ninth-generation Camry is a heavy refresh, not a completely new car. The LED lights and bumpers have been reshaped, but the design isn’t radically different. From behind, the Camry might be mistaken for a Lexus ES due to its similar appearance. It’s worth noting that these changes apply to the 2025 model year.

The interior is all new too with a 7in or 12.3in digital cluster and an 8 or 12.3in infotainment system. Top XLE and XSE trims also get a HUD and all trims get standard CarPlay, a wireless phone charging pad, as well as USB-A and USB-C ports, three in the front and two in the back. There is no info yet about a sporty TRD trim nor for any pricing.

The new Camry hits dealers in the spring of 2024.

It seems that the 2025 Camry is just a slightly updated version of the 2024 model, so there shouldn’t be many changes in terms of cabin space. However, there are some big changes in terms of equipment levels – even the base Camry LE and SE models now come with digital gauge cluster displays, dual-zone climate control, a Qi wireless phone charger, 16-inch aluminium wheels, LED headlights, and smart key with pushbutton starting.

The SE model has additional features such as 18-inch wheels, sports suspension, faux leather seat accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and aluminium pedals. The XLE and XSE models come with even more upgrades, including 18- and 19-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch gauge display and central touchscreen, LED taillights, heated and power-adjustable leather seating, proximity key entry, and front and front side acoustic laminated glass.

As before, the Toyota Safety Sense active safety suite is standard across the lineup, which includes automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, auto high beams, and adaptive cruise control.

As mentioned in our previous comparison test between the outgoing Camry and its rival Honda Accord earlier this year, the Toyota comes equipped with various convenient features that are not available on most of the new Accord models.

Despite being teased for its numerous buttons, these controls offer a plethora of functionalities. The hybrid versions of the Camry also come with an EV mode button located behind the shift lever. This button allows for the powertrain to operate solely on the electric motors for short periods at lower speeds.

However, the system will automatically switch back to hybrid mode at higher speeds. The rear seat space in the previous Camry model is satisfactory, with decent legroom (although not quite up to the level of the Accord) and a comfortable cushion height.

The Camry also offers rear-seat air vents and USB ports, which are not available on most Accord models. These features are limited only to the range-topping Accord Touring, which is a downside for such a large car.
