ZEE5 Global released the Satrangi trailer showcasing a rural revenge drama exploring caste, identity and power in Uttar Pradesh.

DUBAI: ZEE5 Global has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming Hindi original drama series Satrangi – Badle Ka Khel, ahead of its worldwide streaming premiere on 22 May 2026. Set in rural Uttar Pradesh, the series explores themes of revenge, caste divisions, social hierarchy and personal identity through an emotionally layered story rooted in feudal India.

Directed by Jai Basantu Singh and produced by RND Film LLP, the series stars Anshumaan Pushkar, Kumud Mishra and Mahvash in key roles. The newly released Satrangi trailer introduces viewers to Bablu Mahto, a young man raised in the shadow of humiliation as the son of a Launda Naach performer. Living between two identities, Bablu and Lalli, the character navigates complex social and political tensions while attempting to challenge powerful local families.

The makers said the series goes beyond a conventional revenge storyline by examining dignity, survival and access to power within deeply unequal social structures. Launda Naach, a traditional North Indian folk performance where men perform in female attire, plays a central role in shaping the narrative and emotional depth of the series.

Director Jai Basantu Singh said the show explores how individuals learn to navigate and reshape systems of control rather than confronting them through force alone. Lead actor Anshumaan Pushkar described the role as psychologically layered, highlighting the emotional and strategic complexity behind Bablu’s dual existence.

Actor Kumud Mishra said the drama stands out because of its unpredictable emotional and political tensions, while Mahvash described the project as socially relevant cinema focused on equality, dignity and visibility.

The Satrangi trailer has already generated attention for its intense storytelling, grounded rural setting and strong performances. Industry observers say the series reflects the growing demand for regional narratives that combine social commentary with mainstream entertainment on global streaming platforms.
