WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR SEPT. 22

Don’t wash the innocent night, its dirt cleansed this home. The crushing glare often opens up the blue nowhere. This door finally opens, we aren’t going home. My blurry eyes are seeking, an inner voice gives birth to hope, and I’m here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a shiny new top-of-show “Then. Now. Forever.” signature video.

A recap of Wrestlepalooza follows.

And then the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena.

“American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He asks what Evansville wants to talk about and shows off the inaugural Men’s Crown Jewel Championship signet ring and says he’s got nine other fingers and he’d love to have another one in the champion vs. champion match–

Enter Seth Rollins, flanked by Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, & “Big” Bronson Reed.

Rollins gestures for his compatriots to hang back on the ramp and gets in the ring to square up with Cody Rhodes alone and gets on the mic.

He says since SummerSlam when they both walked out as champion he’s had Crown Jewel circled on his calendar and here they are, two of the best in the world in their prime, one-on-one, may the best man win. And it should be that simple, but it’s not that simple, he says, because it’s the two of them, and it’s deeper and bigger than that.

Seth says he’s pretty good at reading people and he knows what everyone in the crowd tonight thinks of him, what the locker room thinks about him, what everyone watching at home thinks about him, and he doesn’t give a damn, because these people don’t know what’s good for them and they don’t have the right to make decisions.

A “CM Punk!” chant goes up and Rollins says it’s not about him, because he doesn’t have a championship, and anyway he knows what that moron thinks of him, but he wants to know what Cody thinks of him, and he wants the truth. Rhodes fixes him with a skeptical glance and Seth doubles down on wanting the truth.

Cody circles and shrugs a little and says the truth is complicated, right? And it shouldn’t be complicated, because Seth has made some questionable choices lately, and one of them is right there, hello Mr. Heyman, but yeah, Rollins changed his life. He came back at WrestleMania and Seth had the courage to stand across from an opponent he didn’t know.

He changed his life at Hell in a Cell because without that injury, without that low, his journey wouldn’t be the same. He changed his life again at WrestleMania by being his shield and helping him bring the WWE Championship to his family for the first time. And he had Becky Lynch on his podcast and she was lovely and he knows it’s wrestling 101 to run your opponent down but what he wants to do is flip the script and ask what Seth thinks of himself.

He knows Rollins can be the best in the world but that Seth isn’t hiding behind these three goons, and he’s not gonna sling mud, he’ll just say it plain, with the match set and another ring on the line, what can he do for Rollins? Seth wants to talk about his watch first, the watch that Cody gave him at WrestleMania 40.

He hasn’t worn it a single time since then until tonight. He wants to know if it was a real gift or a token gesture, because Cody is fantastic about saying all the right things about him, he heaps glowing praise on him when it suits him but then in his next breath he undermines everything he stands for, saying with a straight face that he’s the right person to lead this company into the future.

He says he’s the quarterback, QB1, and if he really believes that in his core, what does that say about Rollins? There’s only two possibilities– either Cody doesn’t think he’s good enough, or that he’s just not as good as he is. He says the Vision aren’t goons, they’re not just a group of people, they’re an idea about the future of this industry, and it runs throug him.

He’s the tip of the spear, not Cody. (Just the tip, eh?) Rhodes can be the quarterback, but he’s Rollins’ quarterback, and if he doesn’t believe that, in just three weeks at Crown Jewel, the truth will come out by any means necessary and he’ll find out that Seth is the prime mover, and this is not a two-man show. Rollins is the alpha.

Cody has a question for him– their matches so far have all been one-on-one, and will that still be the case at Crown Jewel? And of those matches, how many has Seth won?

Rhodes walks off leaving Rollins quietly fuming, but when Cody gets to the ramp, the Vision are still in his way. Paul E pulls the Brons aside and gestures for Rhodes to wlak through.

Backstage, the Usos are chatting.

“Big” Jim asks Jey if having a match against LA Knight is really the best idea with him all banged up, and Jey unloads and says he hasn’t even cleaned the blood off his shoes yet and he thinks they would have won if LA Knight wasn’t the referee, and further if Jim hadn’t helped Knight out, the Vision would have taken him out.

Jim asks if he’s putting all this on him, and Jey becomes thoughtful and says he isn’t, he’s just concerned they’ve been wasting a lot of time on LA and now he’s gonna body him tonight.

New Day make their entrance and we go to break.

Finn asks what happened to mister stand up for himself, and Dom says that they all said things they didn’t mean last week and asks for help, but Finn’s busy playing video games.

Mysterio asks JD McDonagh for help and JD says he’s also busy but Dom pushes and Roxanne! Perez slides over to plead and say Judgment Day is about helping each other. JD relents and says he’s doing it for Judgment Day and he’ll go talk to Adam Pearce. Dom says no need, and he already got Adam to sign off on JD vs. Rusev, tonight! McDonagh sighs and goes over to chat with Finn.

Bayley rolls up on Lyra Valkyria.

Lyra falls over herself apologizing for last week but happy Hugger Bayley just talks about how happy she is to see her and whatnot and asks her to be in her corner tonight. Valkyria is confused and says she yelled at her, which Bayley doesn’t remember, and Lyra says if it really means something, if it’ll help her be her best, she’ll do it, and Bayley excitedly thanks her and walks off.

Stephanie Vaquer is walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Adam Pearce is in the ring to welcome your new WWE Women’s World Champion, Stephanie Vaquer.

She talks about sacrificing to make this happen and beating one of the best on the planet, IYO SKY, and she learned to be strong and never give up because she had the best example, her hero, her dad, who stands up in the crowd and gives a sweet little wave and yep I’m crying.

She continues in Spanish talking about being La Primera and being a WORLD champion and says in English that the title represents the motivation and support we’ve all given her, and every celebrates with her and everyone cries with her, and she needs to say “Thank you.”

Uso is grateful and tells him not to worry, he’ll get to the top again. They shake hands on it but Jey is left with a thousand-yard stare.

IYO SKY chats with Rhea Ripley backstage.

Rhea asks if they’re even allowed to hang out and says she’s really sorry about last week. IYO begs her to call off the match, but Ripley refuses and says maybe she and Oscar can beat some respect into each other like they did. Rhea tells her to be careful around Asuka and SKY gets upset, saying Asuka is family.

Ripley says that’s why it hurts even more, and IYO again says Asuka is family and asks if she can even trust Ripley, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of Stephanie McMahon being named the first inductee to the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame.

Commentary hypes up next week’s show, including an Usos vs. Bron ‘n Bron rematch, although no word if any pseudoscience trinkets will be placed at ringside this time.

We get a video package for the dynasty of El Grande Americano growing in power, and the trio is officially dubbed Los Americanos.

He says the women’s division is more competitive than ever but just keep plugging away and give him time to find a match and he’ll give her the opportunity she’s asking for.

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee roll up.

Styles says the Americanos are starting to piss him off and you know how petty he is. They complain about the proliferation of Americanos and ask for a match next week. Pearce asks which two, they say they don’t care, and he says he’ll talk to the Americanos and get the match made.
