WWE NXT results, live blog (Sept. 2, 2025): Darkstate of mind

Here’s a place to check results and comment along with the newest episode of WWE NXT, airing live on Tuesday night in the 8 pm ET time slot on CW.

Advertised for tonight: NXT Champion Oba Femi will be teaming up with his top enemy at this moment, Ricky Saints, alongside former Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank, to take on Darkstate in an eight-man tag team match. They are apparently placing more of an emphasis on the latter heel group actually being a threat to the promotion.

Elsewhere, Jaida Parker and Lash Legend try to get closer to a title shot battling each other, Candice LeRae takes on Xia Brookside in a Speed tournament match, and more!

Come right back here at 8 pm ET when the NXT live blog kicks off once the show starts on CW. A running record of everything that happens will be below this line here.

Enjoy the show!

WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR SEPT. 2

Outside’s the rain, the driving snow, I can hear the wild wind blowing. Turn out the light, bolt the door, I ain’t going out there no more, ’cause I’ve got to be inside to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena.

Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend

Legend piefaces her, Parker shoves back, collar and elbow, quick stalemate and Jaida slaps her across the face! Lash rams her into the corner, shoulder blocks and a kick, scoop, Parker floats over, shoulder blocks in the corner! Hip attack countered, Legend walks her around the ring, release Atomic Drop, elbow, big splash, cover for two!

Hossing her up, bouncing Jaida’s head between the ropes, Parker slips out, sunset flip blocked but her elbow lands true! Arm wringer, wrenching Lash’s arm, short-arm shoulder block, arm wringer, short-arm shoulder block, short-arm knee, step over, la Casita, cover for two. Armbar, Legend pulls her hair but Jaida maintains control of her arm!

Lash with an elbow, scoop, Parker slips out, O’Connor roll denied, back body drop sets Jaida on the apron, trading right hands, off the top, diving lariat but Legend kicks out! Lash goozles her, chokeslam… NO DEAL! Referee checking on Parker, Lash stalks, and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Legend nails her with an overhand chop, scoop and a slam, off the ropes, nobody home on the big splash! Parker with body blows, off the ropes, shoulder block, Lash unmoved, criss-cross, shoulder block staggers her this time, flying shoulder block wipes her out! Jaida back on her feet, back elbow, bulldog headlock, shifting gears, suplex denied, lungblower connects!

Off the ropes, running blockbuster for two, big headbutt from Legend! Scoop her up, Black Hole Backbreaker, cover for two! Jaida hangs her in the ropes, overhand chops, double jump seated senton, high stepping, fireman’s carry, unsteady on her feet and she hits a Samoan drop but Lash bails to the floor!

Parker clinging to her the whole way, Legend shrugs her off and lays her out with a hard pump kick! Up on her back… LASH EXTENSION INTO THE ANNOUNCE DESK! Back inside, on her back again…

Lash Legend wins by pinfall with Lash Extension.

Post-match, Parker jumps Legend in the ramp and throws her into the barricade… SHE PUTS LASH LEGEND THROUGH THE DAMN BARRICADE WITH A HIP ATTACK!

Blake Monroe walks into a room with Arianna Grace backstage.

They bond over some Maybelline mascara (I’m a Covergirl gal myself) and are fast friends, but Jordynne Grace rolls up looking for a fight. Monroe beats a hasty retreat but Kali Armstrong grabs her and tells her she can’t keep barging in like this and she’s about to have a Kali Armstrong problem in addition to her Blake Monroe problem.

Je’Von Evans is shown walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Je’Von Evans makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He tells the crowd he appreciates them and says he knows we all expect him to come out and be excited and positive about everything but after Heat Wave, he doesn’t think he can do that. He thought he had it in the bag when he beat Trick Williams in Philadelphia. And he had great advice from legends but at Heat Wave it felt different.

He apologizes and takes a moment to collect himself and says he was nervous, the butterflies were getting to him, the walls were talking to him, and he felt like it was his night to become champion. He was excited and strong, walking with his chest out, he called his sister to tell her that he was gonna be the youngest NXT Champion in history and he didn’t do that.

But he thought he was, because he heard the crowd erupt, heard the ref’s hand hit three, but then he saw Oba Femi’s foot under the rope, and then Oba capitalized and the next thing he knew, he saw Femi’s hand raised in the air. He wants to apologize for letting us all down– this gets “No!” chants– and he feels like he let himself down.

“We still love you!” chants break out and he says he appreciates that and he feels like he had it in the bag but he ignored everybody. He didn’t talk to coaches or to his family for a good week and he told himself–

Video of a motorcycle appears on the tron. Je’Von says he’s not playing games right now, and he just wants to talk. The video comes back and we see the bike parked and boots hitting pavement.

(DONG.)

Enter… Josh Briggs?

The crowd does not appreciate the fakeout.

Briggs complains about Evans getting opportunity after opportunity and title match after title match, but Je’Von says he’s not hearing that right now. “You suck!” chants ring out and Josh says if they keep it up he’ll take it out on Evans. He says Je’Von’s problem is he thinks he can wait. He should have stepped up and put a finger in Oba’s face and demanded a rematch, but he didn’t so now Ricky Starks is #1 contender.

Briggs tells him to try being him, try waiting years for an opportunity knowing that you’re better than everybody else. He’s not here to motivate Je’Von and give him his gold star and the truth is Evans ain’t ever beating Oba. He’s good but he’s not good enough, and he’s proving that right now.

Je’Von asks if he thinks he knows him and Briggs blasts him with a boot and beats him down! Josh goes and gets a chair and sets it up, goozle… CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE DAMN CHAIR!

We get a hype reel for Xia Brookside to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Hank and Tank are giving Oba and Ricky a pep talk in the locker room, talking each man up to the other before leaving the two of them alone to snipe at each other briefly.

Candice LeRae vs. Xia Brookside (WWE Women’s Speed Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament First Round Match)

Brookside with a schoolboy, LeRae with a fireman’s carry, right hand, off the ropes, satellite headscissors from Xia! Pass to the corner, boot up, Frankensteiner from Brookside! Following it up with a dropkick, Candice down in the corner, double knees connect! Pull her up, side Russian legsweep, cover for two!

Two minutes left on the clock, LeRae blocks a monkey flip, shoves Xia to the floor! Back inside, Codebreaker, Candice kicks out! Tornado DDT from LeRae, thirty seconds, quebrada… IT’S OVER!

Candice LeRae wins by pinfall with a quebrada.

Josh Briggs rolls up to the men’s locker room and everybody goes quiet.

He says they don’t have the balls to talk to him but Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors step up to say what he did to Je’Von Evans wasn’t cool and he’s being a jerk. Andre Chase steps up to defend his boys, Josh says at least the Undertaker had a career, what’s his excuse, and of course the Chase U boys book Andre in a match without him getting a word in about it, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Ava Raine has ZaRuca, the (distaff portion of the) Culling, and Fatal Influence in her office.

She says she’s been chatting to Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis about getting an NXT team an opportunity for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. They all bicker about who deserves it more and Ava says she’s running a triple threat #1 contender’s match next week.

Darkstate send in a video promo where they talk about how they’ve never gotten fair shots in any of their previous sports efforts, which turns out to mostly be about wrestling in general and WWE specifically but they started off talking about Osiris not making it in football so

Trick Williams is walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Trick Williams makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He says last week he did a promotional piece and said some things he meant, and he stands ten toes down on it, because it’s real. He looked at that camera on the CW Network and said Trick Williams is the hottest and the greatest NXT Superstar who ever lived. But to his surprise, no one from the past, none of your favorites, said a whisper or a word or sent a Batman signal.

That could be for one of two reasons– one) they all know that Trick is the hottest NXT Superstar to ever live; or two) they don’t care about NXT anymore. Now that to him is crazy because after all the hard work they’ve put in the last three to four years, he sees fans on buses and scooters, he saw one guy walking here, and they don’t care?

But if he’s gonna be real, he doesn’t blame them one bit, because once he moves to Raw or SmackDown on a big money contract and gets a million dollar house in the suburbs, y’all ain’t ever seeing him again. These guys do what they want, traveling the world in Paris and Bologna, can you blame ’em? He can’t.

So all your favorites that you love, they don’t love you.

#DIY IS HERE!

They get thunderous “Welcome home!” chants and Tommaso Ciampa makes a heart with his hands because he’s adorable.

Johnny Gargano says they do love NXT and today is the ten year anniversary of their NXT debut! And look what we have here, the greatest superstar in NXT history! Tom asks if it’s true that nobody’s greater than Trick Willy, and John points out he is a two-time NXT Champion. But wait, isn’t Ciampa also a two-time NXT Champion? He is!

Gargano also held the NXT Championship, and the NXT North American Championship three times! But one thing they can’t claim, he’s the TNA World Heavyweight Champion and they’ve never held that. Tom plays coy and talks about Johnny’s tag partner for the NXT Tag Team Championship and how he must have had a beautiful bald head and huge muscles.

Gargano said he was okay and got a little grumpy when the show was over, but he was fine. Johnny says Trick’s resume speaks for itself, but the jury’s out on the greatest, because he’s seen some great stars come down the aisle, huggers and demons, and they all loved the crowd. Ciampa says there were two guys who loved the black and gold and rips Williams’ glasses off and says it was two guys, three letters, DIY!

Trick says don’t get it twisted, don’t put hands on him because you can’t beat his girl’s ass, but he came out here not out of disrespect but to show love. They’re Johnny Takeover and the Blackheart and they’ve done great things, but then Trick Williams came in like a thief in the night and kicked their accolades back to the medieval times where they belong.

Ciampa’s had enough and shoves Trick, Gargano lands a superkick… MEET IN THE MIDDLE!

Backstage, Je’Von Evans is getting evaluated by medical and Ava Raine appears to make him a deal.

If he promises he’s not gonna interfere in Josh Briggs’ match tonight, then he can have a match against him next week. He agrees and she has security escort him out of the building.

We get a hype reel for Kali Armstrong.

Back from commercial, Ava Raine is presiding over a face-to-face between Tavion Heights and “All Ego” Ethan Page.

All Ego is upset about Heights disrespecting the Canadian flag, but he says he’s got no problem with Canada, he’s got an issue with one maple syrup sucking Ethan Page.

Raine starts talking and Ethan gets ahead of her and says she’s gonna book a Flag Match but she says she wasn’t planning on it but since he cares about flags so much, yeah, next week it’s gonna be a Flag Match.

Jordynne Grace vs. Kali Armstrong

Armstrong in control early, slinging Grace across the ring, shoulder blocks in the corner, Jordynne gets a boot up, up and over, big elbow clocks Kali, chops in the corner! Whip reversed, off the ropes, inverted suplex, back roll into a Camel Clutch! Armstrong backpacks her into the corner to break the hold but Grace won’t let go and shifts to a sleeper hold!

Snapmare counters, big back elbow, slinging Jordynne into the turnbuckles and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Armstrong working a backbreaker hold, Grace counters with knees, grabs a backslide standing, rams Kali’s face into the turnbuckles, rolls it through, a couple lariats… NO DEAL! Armstrong off the ropes, head of steam, Jordynne cuts her off with a back elbow, pumphandle…

Jordynne Grace wins by pinfall with Beast Mode.

Post-match, Blake Monroe comes down and she and Grace start brawling! Jordynne whips her into the steel steps, double leg into grounded punches and security swarms to break them up! Blood pouring out of Blake’s nose, trembling, staring hate at Grace, security doesn’t even need to hold her back because she’s so full of rage.

We get a hype reel for Lola Vice.

Andre Chase vs. Josh Briggs

Briggs hot out the gates, no cover because Chase’s leg is under the ropes! Whip to the corner, Andre off the top with a Frankensteiner, slingshot to the apron, he lands a kick and follows it with a crossbody but Josh catches him and rams him back-first into the ringpost to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Chase rallying, Briggs gets a big splash for two! Andre up and over, rolling through, Josh slams him but Andre counters a suplex into a Stunner and he’s still in the fight! Diving crossbody… ALMOST DOES IT! Briggs with a chokeslam, off the ropes…

Josh Briggs wins by pinfall with a big boot.

Post-match, Briggs attacks Kale Dixon and puts him into the barricade! Uriah Connors rushes over… AND GETS CHOKESLAMMED THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE DESK!

Trick Williams is interviewed backstage and says he’s not gonna let #DIY slide and he’ll see ’em next week.

Commentary hypes up next week’s show.

Ricky Saints makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of Blake Monroe bleeding her own blood, sure why not.

Darkstate (Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, & Saquon Shugars) vs. Hank and Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger), Oba Femi, & Ricky Saints

Shugars and Ledger to start, Saquon counters a back suplex and gets Tank in his corner for the quick tag machine. Lennox with a big lariat, into the corner, pressing the attack but before the heat segment can really get going, Walker tags in. Big corner bulldog on James, elbow, cover for two!

Arm wringer, tag to Saints, chops and kicks in the corner, wristlock, up top, Old School with a tag to Femi from the ropes! Arm wringer, short-arm shoulder blocks from the Ruler, the match breaks down and all eight guys are in the ring! Oba with a Big Ending, directing traffic… FOUR WAY HONK HONK BODY BLOCK AND CUTLER FALLS TO THE FLOOR TO SEND US TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, Darkstate in control putting boots to Hank! Walker finally gets away, hot tag to Tank, cleaning house, elbows and lariats, Atomic Drop, springboard shoulder block, Ricky with the blind tag, suicide dive and Saints hits a DDT! NXT regulars coming out ahead, it looks like Hank and Tank are gonna get the best of Shugars despite some miscommunication between Saints and Femi that sees them brawl to the back, but That Damn Numbers Game wins out again!

Ledger blocks the quadruple powerbomb on his bud, taking Darkstaters to the floor and out one at a time, Cutler slams Walker, goozles him and asks him who’s gonna save him now. Hank says Joe Hendry… AND HE APPEARS! THE SHOULDER BLOCK POWERSLAM HITS AND THAT’S IT!

Hank and Tank, Oba Femi, & Ricky Saints win by pinfall with the shoulder block powerslam from Hank and Tank on Cutler James.

Commentary hypes up next week’s show again.

Hendry has a singalong with Hank and Tank and the NXT crowd.

We cut backstage to briefly see Oba and Ricky still brawling.

That’s the show, folks.
