WWE’s “El Grande Americano” character started as a bit of goofy fun, a mid-card comedy angle on Raw. It’s grown into… well, it’s still pretty much a mid-card comedy angle on Raw. But we could probably call it upper mid-card now at least, because it’s also part of the AAA main event scene.

And with it’s rise in international prominence, the gimmick’s grown. Not only has Ludwig Kaiser replaced Chad Gable as Americano Principal, but two other Americanos have subbed in for or joined the original (believed to be played by more non-Americans, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate).
